Nina Ioanna is more than a fitness model, she is a sportaholic. You have probably seen her on the internet, she is a WBFF pro and a Myprotein Ambassador. Do not be confused by her smile, because she probably warms up with your MAX!

I used to compete in gymnastics for about 10 years. Competed at a national level and was part of the national team for some years. Quit gymnastics due to a back problem around year 2007. Then did not compete in any sport, at the moment I was living in Cyprus. When back in Finland in 2011, Then I got introduced to an IFBB bikini fitness competitor who initiated me to the sport.

I started going to the gym and preparing for a competition. First, I joined online workout trainings but they were not suitable for me and I got very sick. Then I found my own methods and learnt to listen my body so to speak. I was training with a Spanish coach Hector Defez, with whom I currently have a Bikini Team and we are now coaching a team of athletes together.

When preparing for competitions in 2014, I was still working 10 hours a day, doing 3 jobs at a time. Finding enough time for gym, meal prep and work, was the hardest part. Just kept consistent in what I was doing and believed I would be able to get on stage, that took me all the way to my goal.

I am just so competitive. A bit too competitive I think! I just want to win so bad and that’s the #1 thing that drives me. Also, after finding the right methods for me, I have been feeling better than ever before so the whole thing does not feel too hard, but I am just living a healthy life cause it makes me feel better.

In some sense yes. But I also love to do different kinds of sport and exercises. One should never get stuck to the same routines, but a bit of change here and there is good for the muscle development too! I am a Sportaholic I would say, just need to do something. I could not just sit on my bum all day! Sitting at work in the office for some 7 to 9 hours per day now in the UK is enough!

At the moment I am trying to shrink in size and get leaner. I do not need more muscle mass as a bikini girl, we aren’t that big. Just the behind has to be big heh. Always using super light weights, just sometimes doing heavy weights for the butt workouts and leg days in general. Adding cardio always towards the end of the diet, but not too much during an off season. Cannot really add more cardio before the competitions if I am already doing much, right.

  • Monday: Legs + Abs + Bike
  • Tuesday: Arms + Treadmill
  • Wednesday: Bike Exercises
  • Thursday: Push Ups + Legs
  • Saturday: Shoulders + Abs

The core is from healthy and colourful food. I don’t eat too much protein at once because it makes me feel bloated and heavy. Always eating, spreading the meals throughout the day, eating up to 7 times a day. It is what works best for me and I never feel hungry.

  • Meal 1: 4 Egg Whites, 1 Whole Egg, 20g Instant Oats, 1 Apple
  • Meal 2: 6 Almonds, 3 Brazilian Nuts, 1 Pear
  • Meal 3: 1 Steak 5% fat, 100g sweet potato, 50g Asparagus
  • Meal 4: 1 Banana, 1 Scoop of Whey Protein (post-workout)
  • Meal 5: 1 White Fish (no salmon), 100g of Broccoli

It’s really great! Get to do shoots and get lots of contacts among the fitness industry. Good to be an ambassador for such a huge company. Myprotein offers great products, I wouldn’t work with a company to promote products I don’t like. I really like the wide range Myprotein got to offer, you can find whatever you need.
